Belonging to another definition

What does Belonging to another mean?

The theft Act 1968 (TA 1968), s 5, and the criminal damage Act 1971, s 10, provide that property shall be regarded as belonging to any person having possession or control of it, or having in it any proprietary right or interest.

Where property is held on trust, the persons to whom it belongs include those with a right to enforce the trust, and the property of a corporation sole continues to belong to it notwithstanding a vacancy in the corporation. TA 1968 makes further provision about property received from or on account of another or by another's mistake.
