How are VAT returns submitted to the tax authorities?The VAT return submission process in Zimbabwe is fully electronic.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
VAT returns (form VAT 7) are filed via the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority's TaRMS portal:

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
To be able to access the TaRMS portal, a taxpayer must first register on the portal. The taxpayer must also ensure that their details are up to date and match the information held by ZIMRA. Any changes should be reported to ZIMRA on form REV 2.

For VAT on imported services, VAT returns are currently completed and submitted by email. It will be possible to submit these returns via the TaRMS portal once it has been updated.
Can a business submit paper VAT returns?Yes, paper returns can be submitted if the TaRMS portal is down, or for reporting VAT on imported services.
Can an agent submit a VAT return on behalf of the business?Yes, tax agents can be authorised to submit returns on behalf of the business.
