Mexico

In Mexico, most employers provide their employees with vales de despensa, or grocery/food coupons, as part of the monthly remuneration. It is not a compulsory requirement for employers to do so but it is common practice.

Vales de despensa are an accepted form of currency in supermarkets, gas stations, and even restaurants. It excludes the purchase of alcohol, tobacco and utilities
