Spring Budget 2023—key announcements across Practical Guidance

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, delivered the Spring Budget on Wednesday, 15 March 2023.

In his first Budget speech, Hunt announced no amendments to headline tax rates or allowances. Instead, the Budget focused on stimulating the workforce with changes to pensions, childcare and energy bills, and reforms to capital allowances that are expected to save businesses around £27 billion in tax over the next three years.

The announcements in the Spring Budget 2023 come amid widespread fears that a recession may be on the horizon, following a series of interest rate increases and challenging economic conditions, where increased energy prices and food shortages have contributed to a cost-of-living crisis.

This publication outlines the key measures announced across the practice areas covered by ½Û×ÓÊÓƵ® Practical Guidance.
