3.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Minimum wage and working hours

Minimum wage regulations in Uganda are provided for in the Minimum Wages Advisory Boards and Wages Councils Act 1964. Originally introduced in 1957, the act supports the establishment of minimum wage rates to be paid to individuals working in Uganda. However, as the rate has not been reviewed since 1984, it has little worth in today's economy. The last published minimum wage rates are as follows:
