Derek Southall

Founder and CEO, Hyperscale Group

Derek is the founder and CEO of Hyperscale Group, an advisory and implementation business helping clients develop strategies for and overcome challenges with technology, digital, knowledge management and innovation.

Derek chairs and was one of the founders of the Legal IT Innovators Group, which has 95 or so of the top 100 firms as members (representing 90000 users and £20bn of turnover) and plays a key role in driving ahead technological thinking and change for the good of the legal profession. In this role he has worked alongside the United Nations and a range of other large organisations.

Derek has been appointed as a non-executive director of  and serves on the advisory board of the Global Institute of Innovation. Derek is also a co-founder of an e learning platform focussed on optimising legal operations called the Professional Alternative, which launched in the Summer of 2021

Emma Dickin

Head of In-House Practical Guidance, ½Û×ÓÊÓƵ

Emma is Head of In-House Practical Guidance for ½Û×ÓÊÓƵ and is responsible for working with the wider ½Û×ÓÊÓƵ business to ensure its guidance solutions for our in-house legal customers deliver the support required.

Emma previously spent eight years working as a PSL in the LexisPSL In-House, Risk & Compliance team, where her primary focus was on creating bespoke content and tools to help in-house legal teams manage their organisation’s internal risk and compliance needs. Emma is a qualified lawyer, an expert in legal research training, and has also spent time managing a customer training and a sales operations department meaning she has a good grasp of both the legal and commercial workings of an organization. Prior to her career at ½Û×ÓÊÓƵ, Emma worked as a fee earner in a specialist property law firm and as a legal assistant for British American Tobacco.
